The lab's tasks

The lab builds a picture of the environment based on observation: it explains the connections, assesses probabilities and finds the points of uncertainty. The work ends in options for a decision and in indicators that show the situation changing.

For this work the lab builds its own software.

Richards Heuer's method weighs every explanation against the data at once and counts the evidence against each. The lab uses it for the step of the cycle at which no fewer than two hypotheses are weighed.
